OUT OF SCHOOL PROGRAM HIGHLIGHTS
NUTRITION
Students team up with a licensed dietitian/nutritionist to explore healthy food choices, lifestyle habits, and the body's needs for physical and mental activities.
S.T.E.A.M.
We assist students with academic instructions in Math and Language arts grades 4th – 8th grade in support of closing the academic gap of students in need.
HEALTH & FITNESS
Students participate in warm ups, skill drills, obstacle courses, strength training and basketball fundamentals.
ADDITIONAL INSTRUCTION
Additional instruction is designed to extend the nutrition and fitness lessons within the areas of health, anatomy and physiology.
EDUCATION
Students receive tutoring and integration of educational activities as they relate to the core subjects of Math and Language Arts on and evidence base software program.
GREAT SUPPORT
Students set goals as they pertain to personal and team development.

Promoted from 8th grade at Faiss Middle School and will be attending Sierra Vista High School. During her time at Faiss, she was inducted into the National Junior Honors Society. She was recognized amongst her peers and received the following awards: 1. Distinguished scholar award for having 4.0 all 3 years 2. Academic excellence Award 3. Presidents Education Award program (outstanding academic excellence in orchestra)

I had so much fun volunteering at the Quiet Storm Foundation Hoops for Hope basketball camp. I LOVE the game of basketball and it was amazing to watch Zionplay, being coached by the best!
The camp happens once a year, is free and open to the public. They serve breakfast and lunch, have an amazing coaching and volunteer staff, special guests and an informative workshop for parents.
If you have kids interested in basketball, I highly recommend signing them up for next year.

The CJ Watson Essay contest has introduced our 7th grader to our community leaders that are the role models for Las Vegas. Through the essay contest I researched and learned about diversity in history. But through the Quiet Storm activities, he has met the leaders that are making a difference in Las Vegas.
I was introduced to the Quiet Storm Foundation through the CJ Watson Essay contest. My daughter and I were able to enjoy trips to Washington DC, she spoke at city hall and even was on the radio! The platforms the Foundation provides for kids are experiences most never dreamed of. I’ve first handily watched them instill confidence and encourage children to explore not only their community but what the world has to offer. I am forever grateful.
The Quiet Storm Foundation is a phenomenal organization. I have watched personally how the volunteers step up to be mentors, counselors and prime leadership influences for our youth. For example, great job opportunities working with the city of Las Vegas, scholarship opportunities to go to college, and unforgettable experiences and journeys that they can take with them and hold fast to the things that they have learned since being a part of Quiet Storm. They have given once in a lifetime opportunities and have provided the necessities that some are simply not given in their everyday lives. All of the outstanding moments that one can imagine have been bottled up into the Quiet Storm Foundation and given back to the community. In return we see the advancement in the underserved youth.
